About Me
I was born in Somerleigh Court at Dorset County Hospital, Princess Street, Dorchester, Dorset. On August 24th 1965. To Margaret Anne Goldsworthy & Alan Goldsworthy.
My First School Was The Grove Infants School Which I Attended from 1970 - 1974, At That Time I Was Living in Bridport Road, Dorchester. Then in 1974 I Moved Schools to Damers Road School until 1975, Then My Parents Moved House To Weatherbury Way, Dorchester And I Went to St Osmond’s C of E school in Barnes Way, Which Was About A 5 Minute Walk From our house. I went Ski-ing in 1975 To Einsedeln in Switzerland for 2 weeks; it was great fun learning to ski. After I finished school in September and was too old for that school I went to Dorchester Secondary Modern School which later on in the school year the school went comprehensive and was renamed Castlefield School and became a girl’s school. So All the boys had to move to Hardye's School. I stayed at that School until July 1981. I Started work in August 1981 at Dorchester Chocolates on a YTS Scheme earning £23.10 per week.
A high percentage of production was ""own-label"" - bearing the customer's name, rather than our own - and we are especially proud to be able to produce annual commemorative chocolate presentations for Buckingham Palace, particularly for the Golden Jubilee. It was around this period, however, that it was decided to produce our own "brand" of chocolates, under the new name of The House of Dorchester, which coincided with the news that HRH the Prince of Wales' Duchy of Cornwall was planning the new village of Poundbury, just outside Dorchester. An acre of land was bought from the Duchy in 1997 and work commenced on the purpose-built 20,000 sq. ft. factory. This was opened by HRH the Prince of Wales in July 1998, since when the original five branded lines has increased nearly twenty-fold.
I Left Dorchester Chocolates in 2004 after 23 years of having a sweet tooth.
Mum died on 14th December 1994. I Married A Dorchester Girl called Lesley Short on July 6th 1996 At St Georges church, Fordington, Dorchester. 2 Weeks Honeymoon was spent in Majorca. From September 21 - 5 October 1996 13 of us (Nicknamed The Griswolds) had a holiday in Orlando, Florida. And again from May 23rd 1997 - 6th June to Orlando, Florida. Then May 23rd - 30th May 1998 we had a weeks holiday in Caernarfon, North Wales. We Decided That in 2000 All 13 of us we would go back to Orlando, Florida from September 1st - September 15th. In 2001 (The Griswolds) Had a change and Spent a week in St, Petursburg, Florida, September 1st - September 8th and a week in Orlando, Florida. That was from September 8th - September 15th. That was quite something being in America while the Twin towers disaster happened.
In November 2001 My wife and I Divorced
In October 2005 I Moved to Bristol And in 2006 I passed my PSV driving test and worked for First Bristol. My Dad & Step Mum Live in Poole, Dorset, My Brother Andrew lives in Dorchester, Dorset. Andrew has 2 Children called Rebecca & Aaron. Andrew's wife Claire died on July 16th 2005 with bowel cancer. Andrew Re-Married in October 2007 to Wendy
